Ursus Forges Cooperation With the Technical University of Munich

Ursus, a producer of agricultural equipment, announced it wants to create an Intelligent Industry Centre. The facility is to be situated in the city of Lublin, in the East of Poland, 170 kilometres off Warsaw. Due to this, the company wants to forge cooperation with the Technical University of Munich. This is a big step towards developing electromobility solutions in Poland. Ursus announced its plans in a press release published last week.

Intelligent Industry Centre, which is to be founded in cooperation with the city of Lublin, is to be a technological park and an investment centre. The company’s focus right now is electromobility and Industry 4.0. The German partner is a world-class player when it comes to these areas. The Polish company’s goal is the creation of a cutting-edge production facility and effective transfer of technology from Germany. The President of Ursus notes that the city of Lublin will benefit from the cooperation and creation of the centre as well.

URSUS S.A. is a leader in the production of agricultural tractors and machines and a household brand in Poland. Its history starts in 1893, when it was founded in Warsaw, as an engine manufacturing facility. From 2007, it is listed on Warsaw Stock Exchange. The company’s President of the Management Board is Karol Zarajczyk. Recently, the company opened a factory in Tanzania. It was named Polish Entrepreneur of the Year 2016 by Gazeta Polska Codziennie Daily.

Electromobility has been embraced by the Polish government, which wants it to become a driver for the state economy. It is estimated that in 2040 there will be over 500 million electric cars roaming the streets. The market is expected to expand considerably in the upcoming 10 to 15 years. The Polish Ministry of Energy prepared the Electromobility Development Plan to create favourable conditions for Polish enterprises to participate in the new global trend and foster growth of the electromobility industry in our country.
