In the recent three years in some Polish cities unemployment has dropped almost by half. The unemployment rate is currently two times lower than in 2012 and is 10.8%. The biggest falls were recorded mostly in smaller powiats. The list also includes bigger cities, like Poznań, Tychy or Gorzów Wielkopolski.

The positive effects came from labour reforms and the need of businesses for new and larger labour forces. After analysing the data on the unemployment in Poland. In the country over the three years the unemployment dropped by a quarter. Thanks to this some towns / cities recorded reduction of over a half.

At the end of 2015 in wągrowiecki powiat there were around 2.5 thousand job seekers. In 2012 there were over 50 percent more inhabitants without work in the powiat.

Specialists say that the situations like this are the sum of many factors. The biggest declines of unemployment are in the regions where economic situation is better. There is very big influence of the companies that are looking for employees and want to hire them on their own initiative. The reform of labour offices alone would not be of much effect.

In 2015 the offices received funds for combating unemployment. In the regions with no good communications with big centres the results are not so impressive. Mainly in the powiats that engage in agriculture and small services.

The biggest fall in unemployment was recorded in słubicki, wągrowiecki and kwidzyński powiats. Meanwhile, in Greater Poland voivodeship a furniture factory was expanded in recent years, where as much as 1200 people found work.

The drop in the unemployment was also an effect of internship vouchers which allow to engage a person for an internship that is free but may be subsidised and later the employer is obliged to hire the employee for a longer period of time.

Unfortunately, unemployment did not go down in all powiats, in some regions it remains on the same level. In braniewski powiat is is 27.3%.
