Registering a company by phone – now possible

Registering a company in Poland can be done in more than one way: you may either submit an application in paper form or use a dedicated web application for that. However, this is not all. Company owners now have one more option: registration by phone. And no, it does not involve any smartphone apps.

Going through the registration process at home is a welcomed opportunity for numerous people. Still, why would you choose to talk on the phone instead of filling out a form on your computer? The Ministry of Development, who stand behind introducing the new solution, says a conversation with a real person gives instant feedback and support. An expert on the other end of the phone line may instantly answer any questions, resolve doubts, point out any errors we may make when going through the registration process. Person-to-person contact may be more efficient and less time-consuming than going through the system manual of the online registration service.

The phone registration is available from January 2017 and concerns registration at CEIDG (Central Register and Information on Economic Activity). Phone registration has a dedicated telephone line: 801 055 088, and is available five days a week, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Once the registration over the phone is completed, the applicant receives a text message with their submission’s reference number. The last step is a visit to a commune office where the application needs to be printed out and signed. Another option is signing the application electronically, upon prior registration in the CEIDG system.

Even though the final step on the registration path may be done online, the entire process can be carried out without access to the internet, from any place with phone network. The dedicated line does not come with any additional charges, phone conversation with the consultant costs just like any phone connection. However, the person registering a company needs to prepare all the information needed for registering an enterprise, such as legal form of the company and the PKO code informing of the registered company’s scope of activity and taxation method.
