Cash Limits on ATMs in Poland
According to Bankier.pl, at Euronet ATMs, The overall withdrawal cash limits of PLN 800 per transaction.
Readers informed Bankier about the new limits. It turns out that the previous limit of PLN 1,000 in one transaction was lowered and now amounts to PLN 800.
“Currently, our network has a one-time cash withdrawal limit of PLN 800 from all Euronet Polska ATMs and deposit ATMs for each transaction made with a card, contactless, and BLIK – informs the company’s press office” – writes the Euronet press office, answering questions from the editorial office.
The Explanation of Cash Limits in ATMs:
As Euronet explains, the limits do not apply to bank customers who have concluded bilateral agreements with the network, allowing for higher limits. The lower maximum withdrawal amounts, Euronet explains, are due to rising ATM maintenance costs.
“The rates we receive from payment organizations and banks do not cover the costs of servicing withdrawals, and the situation is worsened by recent cost increases related to macroeconomic factors beyond our control. The introduction of the limit will make it possible to maintain a constant level of cash in devices, which will translate into their acceptable availability in a given location”- reports the Euronet press office.
Reducing the limit of cash limits of withdrawal from an ATM in one transaction is not something new. During the pandemic, Euronet set a one-off limit of PLN 1,000, and soon Planet Cash followed in its footsteps, introducing the same limit, but not binding on the clients of ING, Getin, BNP Paribas, BPS, and mBank, i.e. those that cooperate with the operator.
There are fewer and fewer ATMs in Poland every year. At the end of the first quarter of this year, 21,210 machines were available. Five years ago, there were 2,000 more.
