Energy warehouses already in Poland

Energy stocking technology is currently one of the priorities of global research and investment. In Poland, first spin-off companies preparing technology for stocking energy are created around schools of higher education and research institutions.

In our country there are several commercial firms supplying ready-made solutions – they use expensive li-ion technology. Cheaper technology, based on flow batteries is only at the R&D stage.

An important component of the system are laboratories with the approval of Polish Accreditation Centre. Selecting proper units that will certify products at particular stages of the construction of energy systems will allow for choosing cheaper and better technologies.

Energy security to a great extent is conditional on acquiring energy from renewable sources. Patrych Chaja, a research and development coordinator from Polish Academy of Sciences, considered complex solutions which at the same time use generators obtaining energy from wind, sun and cogeneration units, e.g. biomass, the most effective.

Energy warehouses will ideally complement the systems, performing the role of a buffer.
