Deposits: Definition, Types and Examples | Indeed.com

Bankier has recently evaluated the current market for monthly bank deposits, compiling a ranking based on interest rates. The results reveal that customers can earn up to 7% annually, though certain conditions must be met to access these top rates.

Leading the ranking is the NOWY deposit 1M WYSOKI PERCENT offered by Bank Nowy, which boasts an impressive 7% interest rate per annum. This offer is exclusively available to new customers who have previously opened a deposit account with the bank. However, the maximum amount that can be deposited is capped at PLN 10,000.

Following closely is the Birthday Deposit from Bank Millennium, offering an interest rate of 5.50% per annum. This unique offer is available only to account holders and can be utilized within 30 days of the client’s birthday. Customers can deposit up to PLN 25,000 under this scheme.

Securing third place is Lokata Plus from Volkswagen Bank GmbH’s branch in Poland, with a 5% annual interest rate. This deposit is accessible to account holders, and notably, there is no upper limit on the deposit amount. Another significant advantage is that funds deposited in this bank are safeguarded by the German deposit guarantee system.

Just outside the top three, with interest rates below 5%, is Toyota Bank’s Lokata Plus, offering 4.90% per annum. In fifth place is Lokata Facto from BFF Banking Group, providing a 4.75% interest rate. Both of these offers are aimed at existing account holders. Lokata Facto, however, allows for a significantly higher deposit limit of PLN 12,000,000, while Toyota Bank’s Lokata Plus has a cap of PLN 40,000.

These rankings highlight the options available for those looking to maximize their savings through monthly bank deposits, with interest rates and deposit limits catering to different financial needs and strategies.

Implications for Banking and Business

Developments in the Polish banking sector affect businesses operating in the country in several ways. Access to corporate banking services, credit availability, deposit rates, and payment infrastructure are all critical factors for companies — whether established Polish firms or foreign-owned entities entering the market.

For foreign entrepreneurs setting up operations in Poland, choosing the right banking partner is a strategic decision. Major Polish banks including mBank, ING Bank Śląski, Bank Millennium, PKO BP, and Santander Poland offer varying levels of service for international clients, including English-language online banking, multicurrency accounts, and dedicated relationship managers for corporate clients.

The Polish banking market is well-regulated by the KNF (Financial Supervision Authority) and participates in the EU deposit guarantee scheme (BFG — Bank Guarantee Fund), providing deposit protection up to EUR 100,000 per depositor per institution. This regulatory framework provides stability and confidence for businesses maintaining corporate funds in Polish banks.
