Simplifying Procedures for Foreigners Eager to Live and Work in Poland
Polish legislation provides for a sort of circumstances in which performing work in Poland is possible without holding a work permit. Some exemptions are dependent on the nature of work performed, some – on the foreigner’s residence status.
A simplified procedure involves cases where either the work permit is not necessary at all or the issuance of such a permit or a common residence and work in Poland is possible without the opinion of the district starost (job market test).
The Recent Updates About Work in Poland:
Recently, Polish President Andrzej Duda signed a law on a simplified procedure for employing foreigners. The statement of the Chancellery of the President of Poland is published by the portal “Gordon”.
After the enforcement of the law, foreign nationals in Poland will be able to work in Poland for 2 years, not 6 months as before, without a work permit. For this, just submitting a job description will be enough.
The new rules also provide for the simplification of the procedure for obtaining a temporary or permanent residence permit. When applying for a Karta pobytu (Residence Permit in Poland), a foreigner is no longer required to provide proof of permanent residence and a permanent source of income in the country. In Poland, it will be sufficient to submit income information in the amount of the minimum salary, and to prove social security, a person will only be required to submit a fixed-term employment contract.
The new rules will take effect two weeks after their publication in the Government Herald. The estimated date is the second half of January this year.
