Lokata Powitalna Retains Top Spot in Three-Month Deposit Ranking

For the third consecutive month, Lokata Powitalna from Credit Agricole has led the ranking of three-month deposits, according to the latest report from Bankier.pl. The ranking is based solely on interest rates, with higher rates securing higher positions.
Credit Agricole’s Welcome Deposit offers an 8% annual interest rate, maintaining its position as the top-ranked deposit. This offer is available to new customers who open a personal account and provide marketing consent. Additionally, account holders must complete at least five cashless transactions via card or Blik each month and log in to the mobile app at least once per deposit period. The maximum deposit allowed is PLN 100,000.
Changes have occurred in the second position. While mBank’s Promotional Deposit remains in the runner-up spot, it now shares the position with Citi Handlowy’s Promotional Deposit, which has raised its interest rate from 6.70% to 7% per annum. mBank’s offer requires new customers to open a personal account with a debit card and consent to marketing communication. Citi Handlowy’s deposit, available under the “Citigold Privileges with a 7% Savings Account” offer, requires a minimum daily balance of PLN 420,000. The maximum deposit allowed is PLN 25,000 for mBank and PLN 220,000 for Citi Handlowy.
Volkswagen Bank GmbH’s Lokata Plus climbed from fourth to third place, offering a 6.50% interest rate. Available to account holders, it allows deposits up to PLN 2,000,000.
Rounding out the top five are Bank Nowy’s NOWYdepozyt 3M Gwarantowany (6.20%) and Toyota Bank’s Lokata Plus (6.10%). Other ranked deposits feature interest rates below 6%.
This ranking highlights the competitive landscape of short-term savings options in Poland, with banks adjusting their offers to attract new customers.
Implications for Banking and Business
Developments in the Polish banking sector affect businesses operating in the country in several ways. Access to corporate banking services, credit availability, deposit rates, and payment infrastructure are all critical factors for companies — whether established Polish firms or foreign-owned entities entering the market.
For foreign entrepreneurs setting up operations in Poland, choosing the right banking partner is a strategic decision. Major Polish banks including mBank, ING Bank Śląski, Bank Millennium, PKO BP, and Santander Poland offer varying levels of service for international clients, including English-language online banking, multicurrency accounts, and dedicated relationship managers for corporate clients.
The Polish banking market is well-regulated by the KNF (Financial Supervision Authority) and participates in the EU deposit guarantee scheme (BFG — Bank Guarantee Fund), providing deposit protection up to EUR 100,000 per depositor per institution. This regulatory framework provides stability and confidence for businesses maintaining corporate funds in Polish banks.
