Samsung Incubator Opens in Lublin

A Samsung incubator for start-ups active in the area of cybersecurity – that is the latest initiative from Samsung, Korean electronics manufacturer and corporation known around the globe. Such place has just been opened in Lublin, one of the largest cities located east of the Vistula river in Poland.

This Samsung incubator was opened in cooperation with Lublin University of Technology. Lublin students will have an incredible opportunity to develop their ideas with support from a leading innovator in the tech world. Samsung R&D Institute will offer prospective entrepreneurs advice, knowledge and assistance in finding investors. Company representatives have announced the most interesting projects developed within the Samsung incubator have a chance to get financial support from Samsung.

The official inauguration of the venue was attended by the Minister of Entrepreneurship and Technology Jadwiga Emilewicz and the President of Samsung Electronics Poland Joseph Kim. It is a second such place in the map of Poland. More than a year ago, Samsung helped to create a similar startup incubator in Rzeszów. “Launching a second incubator is an element of a wider strategy of Samsung Electronics Poland which entails supporting young entrepreneurs from Eastern Poland and their innovative ideas” – said the Samsung representative.

The corporation also announced it wants to act for the local community. Among the planned initiatives for the citizens of Lublin and city students are coding workshops, hackathons and lectures. Samsung also wants to raise the awareness of cyberthreats and the importance of cybersecurity.

The head of Lublin University of Technology stressed the institution is very proud of being selected as home of the Samsung incubator. The cooperation is a great opportunity for the local students to gain experience working on real projects.

The incubator is currently recruiting participants. Young entrepreneurs interested in the initiative may apply until the 27^th of February.
