Russian Gas

The authorized representative of the Polish Council of Ministers for Strategic Infrastructure, Piotr Naimsky, stated that Poland refuses Russian-made gas. This was announced by a high-ranking official on the radio station RMF FM, RBC-Ukraine writes.

The contract for the purchase of blue fuel from the Yamal gas pipeline is valid until the end of the year.

Nowadays, 50% of Poland’s natural gas comes from Russia. However, the Polish government is ready to replace the supplier. The Baltic Pipe pipeline will be operational in the fall. An LNG terminal has already been built and will soon be connected to systems in Lithuania and Slovakia.

Why Russian Gas and Oil Imports are Refused:

On March 17, German Finance Minister Christian Lindner said he still considered it possible to impose an embargo on Russian gas and oil. “All options are on the table,” Lindner told ARD.

German Finance Minister Christian Lindner still considers it possible to impose an embargo on the purchase of Russian gas and oil. “All options are on the table,” Lindner told ARD. He stated that Germany held day-to-day talks with the G7 and EU member states.

The main German financier noted that Berlin is ready to use all opportunities to create additional reserves, and this applies to coal, gas, and oil import diversification.

He reaffirmed his proposal to subsidize fuel at petrol stations. Christian Lindner believes that this initiative will gain the support of the governing coalition.

Earlier, the United States and Great Britain banned the import of Russian gas and oil.
